(Presented by local Welfare & Self Reliance Support Managers, under the direction of local Area Seventy and Stake Presidents.)

FOR:  Newly called Stake Self-Reliance Committee members, Bishoprics, Relief Society Presidencies, Elder's Quorum Presidencies, Stake and Ward Welfare and Self-Reliance Specialists, Ministering Brothers and Sisters.

TOPICS:  Effectively using the Self-Reliance Plan form when ministering to temporal, emotional and spiritual challenges.  This training includes

  • An introduction to community resources  Utah 211
  • Ministering to those with temporal and emotional needs (Handboodk Sec. 22)

"Good Inspiration is Based Upon Good Information"

The suggested Self Reliance Process is:
  • Identify the Challenge or Crisis.
  • Match the Resources to the Challenge or Crisis.
  • Make a Plan.  
  • Implement the Plan
  • Return and Report
  • Re-evaluate and Repeat

The Self Reliance Plan Form faciliates this process. The purpose of this meeting is to expand awareness of church and community resources and to train and encourage the use of the Self Reliance Plan form.
